Thank you for your patience with us as CASLI was busy last month support the RID National Biennial Conference in Baltimore, MD. The conference was a great success and rest assured, our involvement with the conference had no impact on CASLI operations and on the progress we have been making to get the NIC Performance exam score to our candidates.
CASLI Performance Exam: NIC Updates:
During the month of July 2023, after rater training had wrapped up, raters began the benchmarking phase – the very last step of the exam development process – which determines if raters were following the scoring committee’s outcomes for the NIC Performance Exam scoring criteria. We had hoped the benchmarking stage would take two to three weeks, however, it took a bit longer than planned and that impacted CASLI’s initial time line of candidates getting their exam results in July 2023.
As the benchmarking phase wrapped up late July, CASLI was able to retain a pool of 25+ raters to rate exam vignettes. Since then, raters have been working their way through the scoring for all NIC Performance exam awaiting results. While it is a busy time for everyone – our raters included – raters are slowly but surely working through to rate exam vignettes as they they are able to. As candidates’ exam are finalized, results will be sent out to candidates.
This week, CASLI will be sending out the exam results to the first batch of beta testers, candidates who took the exam as early as July 2022 and August 2022 and we will continue to send out more results in the coming weeks in staggered fashion. We are very well aware that our candidates have been waiting patiently for their results and we are very excited for them and our communities!
