Transcript:

Hello, I am Sean Furman, Testing Director for CASLI.  Happy New Year! I hope you all had a good holiday and ring into the new year 2023.

CASLI has some short quick updates that we would like to share with you for this month.

CASLI Performance Exam Updates:

Starting first with the CDI Performance Exam. As you my already know, CASLI started deployment of candidates’ Performance Exam results for the CDI Performance Exam prior to the holidays. A bit more than half of the exam results were sent out. Now, in the month of January (2023), CASLI has been working with raters to ensure they complete rating of all remaining exams to produce exam results.  The good news is ALL exams have been rated. All 75 CDI Performance exams, that were taken by candidates during the beta period, have been rated and scored.  This means all exam results (for CDI Performance Exam during beta period) will be sent out prior to the end of January. We are truly thrilled for this milestone as this means beta period for the CDI Performance Exam is considered completed. Going forward, candidates can expect to get their CDI Performance exam results within 90 days from the date they took the exam. This is a huge step forward in the process.  For those who successfully passed the CDI Performance exam, congratulations to you all.  For those who did not pass the exam, we are rooting for you and hope you pass it the next time you take the exam.

If there are any questions regarding the CDI Performance Exam, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.

Next is the NIC Performance Exam, which is still in beta period at this time.  The next stage is the Scoring Committee to convene in February to start reviewing candidates’ exams and discuss scoring criteria. That process will take a bit of time.  After that phase is complete, then we move into the phase of Rater Training where raters are trained on scoring criteria and go through benchmarking process. Once that is done, then  raters will proceed in rating candidates’ exam vignettes.

Currently, we project that candidates will hopefully get their NIC Performance exam results by late spring 2023 or early summer, prior to July 1, 2023. That is our goal at this time as this depends on progress made.  Again, any questions or concerns, please contact us.

New Testing Sites Announcement:

CASLI is thrilled to announce the implementation of a new testing sites:

  • Austin, Texas
  • Virginia Beach, VA

CASLI continues to strive in expanding our network of testing sites and we would love to be able to provide access to interpreter performance testing in your area. If you know of a possible testing site in your area that could be a good fit, please let us know. We will be happy to reach out to them and work with them in becoming a testing site.

That is all of our updates for this month.  If you have any questions, thoughts, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. Again, Happy New Year! Have a great week ahead and see you next time.
