Fundraising Effort:
We are working to revive the Specialist Certification: Legal to address the shortage of qualified interpreters in legal settings. CASLI has invested $60K to launch the process, but need additional funding to complete this $500K–$750K initiative. Your support will directly build a sustainable certification that protects consumers and ensures equal access to justice. Click here for the full letter.
Timeline:

July 2025: Phase 1 of SC:L JTA is launched bringing SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) together with the Psychometrician team. For more details, please click here.
December 2024: CASLI Board of Managers – Start up funds for SC:L Announcement
CASLI has taken the lead on this with the support of start-up funds of $60K, approved by CASLI Board of Managers, toward the first phase JTA (Job Task Analysis). The JTA phase is the first step to identify the essential KSA (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) required to work as an interpreter in legal settings.
Spring 2024 – RID Board of Directors approved for reviving the SC:L Certification.
