CASLI Performance Exam Updates (Sean)

Recently, there has been an uptick in numbers of Performance exams being taken and with summer here, raters’ availability may vary due to vacation plans, conference, work, and other things.  For these reasons, there may be slight delay with deployment of Performance results  At this time we anticipate it will take up to 120 days for candidates to get their results.  Rest assured, you will get your results. We appreciate your patience with this process.

Implementation of CASLI Exam Results Timeline status updates (Amie)

The timeline for processing exam results can be affected by a variety of factors that fluctuate throughout the year. These include the number of candidates taking the exam during a given period and the availability of raters whether through turnover or schedule limitation. Operational considerations, exam maintenance, and scheduling logistics may also influence processing times. As such, variations in result processing timelines are normal and reflect the dynamic nature of the assessment cycle.

To help candidates stay informed about potential changes in result processing times throughout the year, we have introduced a CASLI Exam Results Timeline status. This status, visible to candidates, provides real-time updates on our current processing timeline category. The categories are as follows:

  • Standard Timeline – within 90 days
  • Moderate Timeline – within 120 days
  • Extended Timeline – longer wait

Additional information on the Exam Results Timeline updates can be found here: CASLI Exam Results Timeline Status

CASLI Test Site Updates (Amie)

Many CASLI LTA sites have limited availability during summer either due to limited site and proctor availability – please plan accordingly and in advance.

CASLI is thrilled to announce the implementation of several new CASLI LTA sites recently. These include:

  • Glendale
  • Cedar Rapids
  • Mill Neck

Please refer to our CASLI LTA proctor map on the CASLI Exam System for additional information about exact locations and how to schedule exams at these sites.

We also have several sites in progress and nearing completion of the LTA implementation process.

CASLI is continually looking to expand our CASLI LTA network. If you have an office space and are interested in becoming a CASLI LTA site, please contact Amie Smith Santiago at manager@casli.org.

Testing History & Testing Cycle (Sean)

A quick shout out to Melissa, CASLI’s Testing Specialist, for her work with entering all of candidates’ testing information in their CASLI account. We are pleased to announce that we are caught up with this task.  Candidates can anticipate their testing information to be updated in their CASLI account under Public Notes within 60 days from the date of when exam results are received.

A friendly reminder that many testing cycles are expiring in 2025. Please check your CASLI account to ensure you are aware of your testing cycle expiration date. If you do not see it or are unsure if it is accurate, please contact CASLI and we will review your testing cycle.

Changes to CASLI Exam System (Amie)

Previously, CASLI Exam System (CES) accounts have shown a “status” in the My Exams section that would show various statuses. This has been a point of confusion for many candidates. In order to minimize confusion and avoid misunderstanding regarding the rating process, CES will show only COMPLETE as the status for when the exam has been taken.  Moving forward it will no longer show the status of pending evaluation, final, unscorable.

Also, candidates will no longer be able to update their name directly on the CASLI Exam System. If you need to make any updates to the name listed on your CES account, please use this form – Name/Email Address Change Form – CASLI Exam System (CES)

Community Concerns & Social Media (Sean)

CASLI recognizes that there have been recent turmoil within RID and potential concerns of any implication on CASLI.  CASLI remains focused on our work and support to those who are taking CASLI’s examinations. In addition to that, we continue to commit to safeguarding our examinations and our practices.  If there are any concerns, please refer these concerns to either me at testing@casli.org  or CASLI Board of Manager president  at president@casli.org

CASLI is aware of discussions on social media platforms that may occur. Be mindful that information posted or comments related to CASLI or testing may be inaccurate or not current. We strongly encourage individuals to please contact us as we will be happy to provide answers to inquiries.  A recent example is speculation on if raters are restricted to rate only the region they reside in. This is not accurate as raters rate exams that are taken anywhere.  Again, please be mindful of this and feel free to contact us at any time.

SC:L Update (Sean)

We are excited for the progress we have made with Job Task Analysis (JTA) for SC:L (Specialist Certification: Legal).  The SC:L JTA is happening late July 2025 and we are eager for this group to meet and start the JTA discussion with our contracted psychometrician team.  CASLI also wants to recognize two sponsors that are supporting SCL:JTA. They are Interpretek who have donated some funds toward this and also Keystone Interpreting Solutions (KIS) who are supporting the interpreter service.

Images of Interpretek and Keystone Interpreting Solutions (KIS) logos appear. Interpretek logo is a mix color of Red and Blue uneven circle around the word Interpretek with American Sign Language Interpreting Service underneath.  Keystone Interpreting Solutions logo is thick blue KIS font with the letter i upside down with green dot underneath i and full word Keystone Interpreting Solutions next to the KIS logo.

We continue to need funding for future phases with development of SC:L assessment/test and if you wish to contribute – please contact us at scl@casli.org   If you have any questions, please contact us at testing@casli.org or scl@casli.org   We look forward to building more collaboration partnerships.

Closing comments (Sean)
