July 2026: CASLI Updates
CASLI Team Limited Availability:
While we are approaching the last months of summer, with scheduled vacations and other commitments, the CASLI team may have limited availability during the month of August, which could result in delayed response times. When team members are out of the office, their automatic reply will provide contact information for time-sensitive matters and other inquiries.
CASLI Performance Exam Result Update:
At the time of writing this, CASLI performance exams that have been taken up to end of April 2026 have been deployed. Raters are currently working on May and future months exams. Due to higher volumes taken during spring 2026 and raters’ summer plans, there may be might slight delay with releasing exam results. CASLI anticipate to release exam results for May 2026 examinations sometime in the month of August 2026. CASLI appreciate your patience with this.
Gratitude for the SC:L JTA Survey:
Specialist Certification: Legal (SC:L) Job Task Analysis (JTA) Survey has closed as of July 6, 2026. HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who completed the survey. It is much appreciated and our contracted psychometrician team are reviewing the data to compile a the SC:L JTA Report based on the collection of data from the survey responses. The report once finalized will be shared with the public. Again, THANK YOU for supporting this effort.
NIC & CDI JTA:
In October 2025, CASLI brought together 16 Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to Washington, DC, in collaboration with our contracted psychometrician team, Dainis & Company, and conducted the Job Task Analysis (JTA) for the National Interpreter Certification (NIC) and Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI) certification programs. Together, they identified the knowledge, skills, and responsibilities that define competent practice for today’s interpreters.
The next step is finalizing the JTA Validation Survey, which will soon be distributed to interpreters and other key stakeholders in the upcoming month. This survey is a critical component of the exam development and maintenance process, helping ensure that CASLI certification examinations remain current, relevant, and reflective of contemporary professional practice.
CASLI is excited to for the upcoming launch of the NIC and CDI Job Task Analysis (JTA) Validation Survey and announcements will be forthcoming when the survey becomes available. CASLI encourages interpreters and stakeholders across the profession to participate in this important process. Your feedback is critical to ensuring certification examinations accurately reflect current professional practice and the evolving needs of the interpreting profession. CASLI Validity and Reliability Report
The CASLI Validity and Reliability Report is now available. The report provides information about the validity and reliability of CASLI’s certification examinations, as well as the processes used to develop, evaluate, and maintain them. It offers an overview of the evidence supporting CASLI examinations and the ongoing efforts to ensure the assessments remain fair, defensible, and aligned with professional standards.
The release of this report reflects CASLI’s commitment to continuous quality improvement within its certification program.
We encourage all stakeholders to review the report to learn more about the examination development process and the measures CASLI takes to support the quality and integrity of its certification exams.
