APPLYING

You can apply and pay for the NIC Interview and Performance Exam by:

  1. Creating an accounting in our CASLI Exam System (CES). Be sure that the email you use for CES matches the email you use in your RID Member Portal. Also, make sure you enter your RID Member Number in CES, as well.
  2. Emailing us at Testing@CASLI.org to have us verify that you meet the eligibility requirements for the NIC Interview and Performance Exam. Your RID account must show that you have taken and passed your NIC Knowledge exam and that you meet RID’s educational requirement before you are able to apply and make payment for the exam. When you log in to your RID Member account, the yellow tile will show “Bachelor’s Degree Reviewed & Approved.” If the word after this phrase is “Completed” then your account has been marked as eligible. If the word after this phrase is “Pending” then you need to submit proof that you meed your educational requirements to RID’s Certification Department.
  3. If you have taken your NIC Interview and Performance exam and did not pass, there is a mandatory six (6)-month waiting period before you can purchase a NIC Interview and Performance Retake Exam on the CES. The six (6)-month waiting period begins from the date you originally took your previous NIC Interview and Performance Exam; this is regardless of when you received your exam results. You will not be able to purchase the retake exam online until the 6 months has passed.

REFUNDS

If you have paid for but have not yet taken the NIC Interview and Performance Exam and decide you no longer wish to take the exam, you may initiate a refund for your payment.

If you purchased the exam through RID’s Member Portal, you must email us at Testing@CASLI.org to request a refund. A $15 non-refundable application processing fee will be applied to the refund if it requested within two (2) years of the purchase date. If the refund is requested after two (2) years, the exam fee cannot be refunded but can be credited to your RID Member account (minus the $15 non-refundable application processing fee) to be applied to other RID products and/or services.

If you purchased your exam through CES, then you may self-refund through the system. A $15 non-refundable application processing fee will be applied to the refund.

Note: Refunds will be processed in the same manner the original payment was made; if you originally paid by check then you will be refunded by check.
